Lesson #12 -- Cross-Cultural Communication

Please read chapter 16, "Communicating with People of Other Cultures," (pp 251-263 in the print edition, Kindle locations 6578-6957) in the textbook.

Send me an email at bboydston@piu.edu, or share with me a Google Doc, responding to the two writing prompts below.

1. Describe a situation where you realized that you were being "culturally rude" to someone from another culture. How did that make you feel? What did you learn?

2. Read the case study "Whose Face to Save" (pp 262-263 in the print edition, Kindle locations 6913-6957). What should Audrey do? Use what you have learned from the reading to formulate your response. (If you do a really good job of tying your response to the information in the chapter, I will throw in some bonus points.)

This assignment is worth 30 points.
